Excerpt from the 2nd Edition of Who Do You Say I Am: The Betrayal & Crucifixion of Louis Farrakhan - Available May 31, 2014

 

"...Some associate the astral body with the fourth chakra (Heart), and consider it to be the first chakra beyond three-dimensional realities.[1] These chakras generate energy from the spine and appear as spinning wheels. Others associate the third chakra (Solar Plexus) with the astral body and the grounding of emotions and desires.[2] Although the astral is associated with at least three chakras, despite the theoretical differences, practitioners and occultist agree that the astral body is very real. C.W. Leadbeater’s research, The Astral Plane, suggest that the existence of this plane is intermingled with matter and divided in into seven sub-divisions.[3] The fifth chakra (Throat) is associated with the element ether which is known to have influence on astral material, i.e., astral light and plays a part in the harnessing of the collective memory of “ALL” or what some call the Akashic Record, Record of the Astral Light, etc…[4] Max Heindel in his writing The Rosicrucian Mysteries speaks to these ideas, but with regards to ether,

 

The Reflecting Ether receives an impression of all that is, lives and moves. It also records each change, in a similar manner as the film upon a moving picture machine. In this record mediums and psychometrists may read the past, upon the same principle as, under proper conditions, moving pictures are reproduced time and again.[5]

 

How is it that Minister Farrakhan in the state that he was in, awake or asleep, was taken from where he was, to Tepotzlan and how was he carried up on that mountain, in a vision?  Powell explains regarding the astral body,

 

One of the first things a man learns to do in his astral body is travel in it, it being possible for the astral body to move, with great rapidity, and to great distances from the sleeping body.[6]

 

Minister Farrakhan in his vision experience was called or summoned to the Wheel for a magnificent meeting with the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. The manner in which he was called to this meeting demonstrates a greater Power that was in control of his faculties at the time of his experience and even up to this point. Luis Minero, a leading expert on out-of-body experiences explains the activity of astral body,

 

During an OBE our physical body remains at rest, usually in the sleep state, while we – the soul, spirit, or consciousness – distance ourselves from our physical body, exploring and experiencing other realities. We travel with a vehicle or body subtler than the physical one and with quite different and unique abilities from those of the physical body. We can venture far away from the body and gain access to realms and planes that are not necessarily similar to the physical reality.[7]    

 

Minero explains that every person has a natural disconnection from their bodies at night, but most people remain unaware of this disconnection from the physical body because they are unconscious throughout the entire process. [8] The process of separating in most is a “spontaneous projection” and only last for a view seconds. In other instances a person is able to view their resting sleeping body, which is termed, self- bilocation. [9] Many people have been reported to experience paralysis while sleeping; a state in which they are more conscious in the astral body (outside of the body) than in the physical body. This is termedProjection Catalepsy or Astral Catalepsy. This state is a normal sensation of the body during the disconnecting of the astral body from the physical body, and is harmless. This is not a new phenomenon. This is as natural to the human being as breathing. The soul of man is always at work, even when the physical body is asleep. In the religious context, the astral body has also been called the soul.  There are 113 references to the word soulmentioned in Maulana Muhammad Ali’s 1950 translation of the Holy Quran and numerous references to the word spirit. Certainly, the uses of the words soul and spirit have very relevant and important meanings in Islam.[10]  Allah (God) says in verse 39:42,

 

Allah takes (men’s) souls at the time of their death, and those that die not, during their sleep. Then He withholds those on whom He has passed the decree of death and sends the others back till an appointed term. Surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.[11]

 

Muhammad Ali further elaborates in the footnote associated with this verse,

 

It is clear that it is not the animal soul that is taken away in sleep; it is the soul that stands for human consciousness. In death both are taken away. The statement further makes it clear that the word tawaff a is applied to the taking of the soul and not to the removal of the body from one place to another.

 

Can we assume that Minister Farrakhan’s soul or conscious was taken while he slept? In Yusuf Ali’s 1917 translation of the Holy Quran he states concerning the same above mentioned verse:

 

This verse affords a conclusive proof that the Quran does not admit to the return to this life in this world of those who are actually dead. It states that the soul is taken away, either in sleep, in which case it is returned, or at death, in which case it is withheld and is not allowed to return. The soul can only be returned if death has not actually occurred.[12]

 

Haddow further illustrates how the astral body moves during the time of its travel:

 

… OBE’s are characterized by the sensation of being a spectator who looks down on his body; a lack of sensation of body weight, movement, and position sense; instantaneous movement from place to place without finding that physical objects present a barrier to movement; and increased acuteness to hearing and seeing.[13]  

 

In Prophet Muhammad’s magnificent vision-experience he was transported from one place to another and received great revelation from Allah (God). How does this relate, or does it relate to Minister Farrakhan’s vision experience, September 17, 1985?"

[10] The uses of these words (soul and spirit) have important significance in Christianity as well. The soul is often used to reference the essence of the prophet or messenger. Like its use in the Holy Quran, it represents more than just thought, but the very being of the Prophet. The word spirit in the Bible is used in direct relationship to God, the devil (“evil spirits”), thoughts, and even significant contemplation. In the Bible, the spirit is like the soul in the Holy Quran; it travels and moves. The spirit has power and is more akin to “thought-spirit”, meaning, the spirit has the ability to affect change and influence people.  In the New International Version Study Bible, the word soul is mentioned in 95 verses and spirit is used 563 times.
